No News is Good News (Update on Joe: Cycles 8&9)

Hi everyone,

Sorry about what feels like a long silence. We are having some technical difficulties editing Joe's website but I am glad they have been resolved. (I have heard from some on this list that they have gotten error messages when trying to link to the site. I suggest trying back at a later time and they are usually just temporary.)

Joe has Cycles 8 & 9 behind him and is feeling pretty good. Cycle 8 was a long one, over Easter (see picture below). Cycle 9 was a short one that ended May 2. In both cases, he had minimal nausea and went right back to school the day after discharge.

He will have an arm x-ray and chest CT at the end of May to look for reoccurence and metasteses before his next admission. We are visualizing again clear, clear, clear on all his tests. We really appreciate all your good thoughts, prayers, and visualizations on this. From here on out, I think "no news is good news" might become our motto.

In other news, Joe was very excited by a recent visit from two wonderful volunteers from the Make-A-Wish Foundation and now was visions of DisneyWorld in Orlando dancing in his head. (We plan to wait until he is done with treatment.) He also is about to start drum lessons and is really looking forward to them.

Seth has some fun news of his own that you can read about: http://www.press-citizen.com/news/042804youth.htm He was one of 39 students in town recently honored by the Iowa City Human Rights Commision with one of the first annual Youth Human Rights Awards. We are very proud of him for that.

Lastly, thanks again to our technical friend, Mike, I can add this link to a song that is much in our hearts, "Lord Protect My Child," by Bob Dylan. http://129.255.232.218/joebritton/BDylan_Lord_Protect_My_Child.mp3
Love and gratitude to everyone from all of us,

Jenny, Tom, Seth, Joe and Happy the dog
